The sky is burning, the Christ Child is baking cookies in Haan! 🌄😇🍪

A fairytale tradition from times long past still lives on today:

When the planetary dust for the red icing ran out on one of the baking days, the Christ Child asked the angel Neriel to fetch new dust from the red planet for the confectionery.

When the angel arrived on the planet, he collected the finest red sugar dust in the deepest crater and was then covered all over with red powder. His wings and angel’s robe left red traces everywhere. When he flew back to the heavenly bakery, the sky shone in the most beautiful red colors and when the people saw this, they called it sunset. The next morning they found the most delicious sugar and tasty cookies in their homes. Since then, they have known that when the sky glows red, the angels and the Christ Child are baking cookies.

With this in mind, we wish you a peaceful pre-Christmas season! 🎄✨
